Frequently Asked Questions

All presentations are viewable in the regular web browsers on PC, Mac, Smart TV, tablet, or mobile phone. There is no need to install any special program or application. One week prior to the event all the papers will be available for download in pdf form, and presentation videos will be available for viewing on demand in the web browser. During the actual event, there will be live QnA sessions for each ‘regular’ paper and two live author interview sessions for the ‘flash’ papers.
Firstly, there is no difference in terms of the written paper which will appear in the proceedings, i.e. PDF format, number of pages, etc. ‘Regular’ papers are presented in a 12min pre-recorded video (5min for ‘flash’ papers) available on-demand to all paid attendees one week prior to the conference, i.e. from Sep-13, 2021. During the actual workshop event starting Sep-20, 2021, all ‘regular’ papers will be sequentially discussed in plenum in live Q&A sessions. On Sep 21-22, ‘flash papers’ will be discussed inside live virtual author interview rooms (one room per ‘flash’ paper). 20 rooms (corresponding to 20 flash papers) will be open simultaneously, and the attendee can at-will enter any room to take part in the author interviewing. Max 100 persons can enter one room at a time, and max 12 people can have their webcam turned on. If a room is full, then you can try another room and return later to converse (via chat or webcam) with the author.
Each ‘regular’ presentation lasts 12minutes. Each ‘flash’ presentation lasts 5 minutes. These videos, along with the associated PDF papers, are available one week prior to the workshop event.
There are two live QnA sessions, one for ‘regular’ papers, and one for ‘flash’ papers. The regular paper QnA lasts 6min per paper. Each regular paper is discussed in sequential order. The ‘flash’ papers will be discussed in a parallel session of author interviews, hence there is no specific time limit per flash paper QnA. Attendees move in/out of live author interview sessions at will during the allotted sessions on Day 2 and Day 3 of the event.
No, it is optional. But you might want to turn on your webcam if you attend one of the virtual breakout rooms for informal conversation and/or whilst interviewing a (flash paper) author.
